Methods of Payment

Depending on how the candidate registers, different payment methods are accepted:

• The test-taker may pay with a credit or debit card, PayPal, Alipay, or an electronic check if they registered using an ETS account.
• However, payment must be made with an electronic check or credit/debit card if the test-taker prefers to register using the phone numbers provided.
• Filling out the registration form and mailing it to the designated address is another method of registering for the TOEFL. The only payment methods accepted in this instance are credit and debit cards.

TOEFL iBT Test Dates

The TOEFL iBT test is conducted at ETS-authorized test centers around the world. The candidate can search for the locations of these test centers and the test dates available by following these steps:

Step 1: Visit the official ETS website and choose the TOEFL option. Additionally, the candidate can register by mail or over the phone using the TOEFL iBT Registration Form (PDF). Or click on this link to directly move on to the test dates page- Find Test Center.

Step 2: Scroll down the page to see the title in bold called "Let’s get started! Select the test you want to take." Candidates must click on this title and choose between TOEFL iBT or TOEFL iBT Home Edition.




Step 3: Then candidates should enter the name or postal code of their city or the city closest to them where they would prefer to take the test.


Next, candidates will choose any two consecutive months when they would want to take the test. The blue arrow to the right of the page will help them navigate through the available months.


After selecting their location and months, candidates must click the "Search Locations" button at the right of the page.

Step 4: Candidates must choose dates that suit them in the calendars provided. The circled dates show the available options for the test. This is based on the availability of test dates and varies based on the test center chosen.




Step 5: When candidates select their preferred date, a list of available test centers in that region for the chosen date will appear on the right side of the page. Candidates are then able to choose their preferred test center.




For those who chose the Home Edition, the available test times for the selected date will be displayed on the right side.


Step 6: Candidates should verify the test date they have chosen for the Home Edition or the selected test date and test center. Candidates will then be prompted to complete their test registration by creating an ETS account.

TOEFL Essentials Test Dates

Candidates can register for the TOEFL Essentials test through three methods: by phone, by mail, or online. The process for registration and checking test dates is outlined below.

Step 1: Candidates are required to visit the ETS website and choose the TOEFL Essentials option. After that, they should scroll down and enter the city and postal code.


Step 2: A list of available dates for the selected month will be displayed below. Candidates can choose a different month by using the arrow on the right. Candidates are required to choose a date from the provided list.


Step 3: Candidates can select a date from the provided list, which will then display a range of available times. After choosing their desired time, they will be prompted to schedule a test and set up an ETS account. This process will enable candidates to register for the test with ease.
